Preparation

Pre-Setup Readiness Checklist

Before plugging in the speaker, ensure the following items are settled to prevent process interruptions during setup:

Required Before You Begin

1. Network Credentials: Have your exact Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password written out on paper.
2. Mobile Device: Use a smartphone or tablet (iOS or Android) with Bluetooth turned ON.
3. Official Companion App: Installed from your device's official app store and signed into your account.
4. App Discovery Permissions:

  • iOS (iPhone/iPad): Ensure Local Network and Bluetooth permissions are enabled in your phone Settings for the companion app.
  • Android: Ensure Nearby Devices (Android 12+) or Location (Android 11 and older) permissions are enabled under App Info > Permissions.

Desktop Web Browser Notice: Initial hardware setup cannot be completed using a desktop web browser because initial device discovery relies on smartphone Bluetooth capabilities.

  1. Power On the Speaker: Plug the speaker into a wall outlet using the included power adapter. Wait 30 to 60 seconds for the internal system to boot. The light ring will spin blue and then change to glowing or spinning orange, indicating Setup Mode.
(If the light does not turn orange, press and hold the Action button on top of the speaker for 20 seconds).
  2. Initiate Setup in the Companion App: Open the official companion app on your phone, tap the Devices tab at the bottom, select the + (plus) icon in the top right corner, and tap Add Device.
  3. Bluetooth Discovery & Pairing: Keep your phone within 3 feet (1 meter) of the speaker. The companion app will search for nearby hardware over Bluetooth. When your device name appears on the phone screen, tap it to select it.
  4. Connect to Wi-Fi: Select your home Wi-Fi network from the list shown inside the companion app. Enter your Wi-Fi password carefully. The companion app will hand the Wi-Fi credentials across to the speaker over Bluetooth.
  5. Final Update & Activation: The companion app will confirm the connection. Assign a room location for the speaker.
Important: Brand-new devices often go quiet for 2 to 5 minutes immediately after connecting to download their initial firmware update. Leave the device plugged in during this process.
